/ / / / / GLASTONBURY WEEK
Now here’s a cheeky, yet funky band kicking out of London that should get a closer inspection when kicking through the impending mud at this week’s Glasto fest, and they’re called Golden Silvers. The psychedelia inspired set pull from a wealth of rich sources in their new longplayer True Romance on XL Recordings — album out now. There’s a luscious sound in the grooves and guitar licks on their debut, especially in the latest singles “Arrows of Eros” and “True Romance (No. 9 Blues).” These clips are great, especially the latter with its throwback to old dance and variety show styled antics. If the Austin Powers vehicle ever plotted a comeback, this would’ve been the perfect theme music. If some Hollywood/indie screenwriter is reading this, Golden Silvers would make the perfect soundtrack to accompany any film. Adds so much color to it. Also, mosey over to their myspace page to hear several tracks from their debut.
